The Gift of One Little Chicken

Joyce's Journey

In just one short year, Joyce, a farmer in Kenya, has changed the trajectory of her family’s life. And it all began with just a few chickens.

Joyce raised chickens for years, but she didn’t know how to feed or shelter them to keep her birds healthy. With training from Heifer, she got the support she needed to help her flock thrive.

Joyce now sells eggs and grown birds to provide for her two children and four grandchildren, and she is now able to give her family a consistent source of nutrition.

"I have come from down under and have risen," Joyce said. "I have seen that I have a chance of advancing my life."
