Heifer Ecuador Country Director

18 years working with Heifer Ecuador

Quiteña, she grew up in a home that taught her a love for art, justice, and peasant and indigenous life. Hand in hand with her father she traveled the valleys, the mountains, the sierra, the moors of her country. Then, taking advantage of the opportunities that life has generously given him, he has traveled the various corners of Latin America and much of the world, which has allowed him to generate understandings and knowledge that unite these peoples. Very curious. She loves math, movies, and running, she's a great marathoner, that's why she likes long-term challenges.

Convinced that peasant production and sustainable food systems is where there is more innovation and answers to the current crises. She has been working in Uruguay and Ecuador for more than 25 years with popular organizations, women and peasant and indigenous organizations, at the local, regional and national levels. She has worked with national NGOs and international and multilateral cooperation organizations, as a researcher, Program and Project Officer, NGO management, in the field of rural development, gender, communication, and natural resources.

Graduated in Uruguay in Development and Communication, with a Postgraduate degree from the UASB in Communication for Development, and a specialization in Gender and Local Development, at the ILO, and with studies in Management for Development at the UASB and several more on Planning and Transformative Scenarios at MIT.
