A Day of Extraordinary Giving

Editor’s Note: Mark Nestleroth is a former Heifer board member and co-chair of the Southeast Pennsylvania Heifer Volunteer Committee.

November 17, 2017 is a special day in Southeastern Pennsylvania, for it is a day of giving to charities.  THE EXTRAORDINARY GIVE, sponsored by the Lancaster County Community Foundation and various community partners, provides 24 hours of donating online and the above sponsors will stretch those donations with at least $500,000 in additional funds and prizes.  This is the 6th year for this event.  Last year, 45,478 donations amounted to $7,167.707.

Heifer International and the Southeast Pennsylvania Volunteer Heifer Committee is again a part of this special day.

For the past 73 years, support for Heifer has been very active in southeast Pennsylvania.     Animals, seagoing cowboys, the first CEO of Heifer(Ben Bushong), thousands of donors supporting Heifer and many volunteers promoting Heifer’s mission have provided a strong history for Heifer in our area.

Heifer International empowers families and communities to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity.    Anyone from any area in the world can honor Heifer on November 17, 2017, by going to Extragive.org!   You can donate from a browser on your smartphone or desktop computer.   Another option is to download the app for your tablet or smartphone which gives you direct live-feed access.   Remember, all donations that are received through the ExtraGive-Heifer International link on Friday, November 17, 2017 will receive extra funds to support the mission of Heifer and honor the 73 years of volunteering for Heifer in Southeast Pennsylvania.
