Heifer Goes Hollywood at Beyond Hunger

Some Hollywood A-listers got to rub elbows with some of the stars of Heifer’s work at the second annual Beyond Hunger event in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

The event was held at the Montage Beverly Hills to raise awareness of Heifer’s work with marginalized women and their families. Heifer also honored Susan Sarandon’s ongoing commitment to ending hunger and poverty by presenting her the “Noble Globe” award.

But from the looks of what those in attendance had to say, the Heifer animals were one of the biggest hits of the night.

Sarandon's daughter, Eva Amurri Martino, looked to be one of the happiest to see the animals.

Days of Our Lives actress Nadia Bjorlin also posed with the stars of the evening.

Actress Amanda Fuller also got in on the fun.

Musical director for the event's performers The Band Perry, Jason Fitz, seemed impressed after hearing about Heifer's work.

Another behind-the-scenes celeb, Janie Bryant, the costume designer for Mad Men, got into Heifer's work and gave a water buffalo.

But the night wouldn't have been complete without hearing from the honoree. Though Sarandon didn't tweet her remarks, our social media guru, Maegan Clark, captured this quote from the Oscar winner. "The piece that made me a true believer in Heifer is that the help doesn't end with one woman or family. It's truly an honor to be working with an organization that recognizes and prioritizes the empowerment of women."
