At Heifer International, our hearts are with the many people in Nepal who have been plunged into crisis from the massive and devastating floods that tore through Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas of the country.

Heifer has deep roots in Nepal going back decades, including in the affected areas, and we are grateful that our own staff and those of our key partners there are safe. However, our relief is accompanied by a profound sense of concern for those who have lost loved ones and whose lives are devastated by this disaster. People who have lost everything are facing the uncertainty of where they will sleep, what they will eat and how they will start over again. This tragedy is beyond words.

In such moments, what matters most is standing together. Our immediate priority as an organization is to support those in need, and our team in Nepal is already working to mobilize direct relief efforts. We are committed to doing everything possible to help those impacted through this incredibly difficult period. We are also aware that the danger has not necessarily passed – rivers in the affected areas may remain swollen, slopes unstable, meaning further flooding and landslides cannot be ruled out.

Heifer stands with Nepal with compassion, solidarity and a commitment to walk alongside those affected as they recover, rebuild and find their way forward.
