Heifer Ranch is on track to become a fully accredited Savory Global Network Hub by June 2021. As a current Savory Hub candidate, Heifer Ranch serves as a living laboratory. Baseline metrics established in 2019 will help to measure improvements to the soil, water cycle and biodiversity, and the carbon sequestration capacity of the campus and pastures. Progress is measured through Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) monitoring and observation. Collectively, this data will help scientists gauge the impact and benefits of regenerative practices, which informs Heifer’s programming globally and better enables Heifer farmers and their communities to thrive.
As a fully-accredited Savory Hub, Heifer Ranch will offer Savory workshops and Holistic Management programs, custom training and consulting services, auditing and verification services as well as monitoring services to help land managers assess the long-term sustainability of their projects and initiatives. There are currently 26 accredited Savory Hubs in 16 countries around the globe.
