What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday – also called Giving Day or the National Day of Giving – is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It’s an annual day dedicated to generosity and giving back to others, a counterpoint to the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Heifer International took part in the first-ever Giving Tuesday in 2012.

For nonprofits like Heifer, Giving Tuesday provides us with an opportunity to share our mission and engage new and lifelong supporters.

When is Giving Tuesday 2025?

Giving Tuesday will take place on Tuesday, December 2, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Heifer’s Giving Tuesday 5X Match starts November 24 and continues through Giving Tuesday.

Why give to Heifer on Giving Tuesday?

All gifts to Heifer starting November 24 will be matched 5X by a generous group of donors who are part of our supportive community. You choose how to donate: you can give a one-time donation, sign up to donate monthly, or set up an annual donation for the holidays each year. You can also check off your holiday shopping list by giving products from our Gift Catalog or sending your loved one a Heifer Gift Card.

All gifts given will be 5X matched until the match limit of $1,700,000 is met. Every $1 you give will be matched with $4 for 5X the impact. Monthly gifts will be matched the first 12 months. Gifts received after the match limit has been met will still directly fund our life-saving work worldwide.
