Three Generations, One Tradition that Lasts
When Sharon Govern first discovered Heifer International on an episode of Oprah, she was intrigued. She gave a cow. Then a goat. And soon, it became part of her family’s holiday rhythm.
“We started giving gifts — and cows, and goats — and it was always just a part of our giving routine,” Sharon said.
Today, three generations of the Govern-Ramsey family are proud Heifer supporters, united by a shared commitment to doing good.
“It starts with a matriarch, right?” her daughter Kelly said. “What started with my parents [is] being passed to me, and then sharing this experience with my son. It’s just part of who we are as a family now.”
