Do you have volunteer opportunities?

Yes! Our Community Engagement Coordinators need volunteers to assist with educational and fundraising events. This includes staffing displays at meetings and conventions, organizing and staffing special events such as a Living Gift Market or Fill the Ark campaigns, giving presentations to congregations and civic groups, organizing Read-to-Feed programs in schools or congregations. What is a "living gift market?"

A Living Gift Market is a chance for your group to reach out to people in need. The basic model of a Living Gift Market is an event of a few hours, a few days-or only 30 minutes! It's usually held in a large room, where each Heifer project animal is represented by a decorated booth. Shoppers visit booths to learn about each animal and fill out a shopping list with their choices. Many markets also offer Heifer promotional merchandise for sale. Payment is made at a central point. For each animal purchased ($10 or more) in the name of friends or family members, Heifer Project will provide a Gift Card for the giver to send.

We're holding/participating in a big event that we expect will attract a lot of people. Can we order Heifer materials to distribute?

We have a variety of free resources available that are suitable for any fundraising effort you want might to do.

Once you decide your fundraising focus, you may call 855 9HUNGER (855.948.6437) to order your resources. We're able to ship these resources free of charge only if you're in the United States or Canada.

Do you have a list of fundraising ideas I can check out?

We have several fundraising ideas for youth groups and all other ages. Check out how Team Heifer can raise money to support Heifer's mission.

Can I volunteer with a Heifer project overseas?

We understand and appreciate the commitment potential volunteers have for the work that Heifer is doing with community groups, but we do not have the staff time in our country offices that it takes to manage volunteers.

The best way is for you to volunteer locally to help us raise awareness of the work Heifer is doing. We encourage you to complete our volunteer application online. This will allow you to express your volunteer interests, and give our Community Volunteer Coordinators a better understanding of how we can best connect you. You can also volunteer at one of our Learning Centers.

I would like to volunteer at Heifer Village. What are the requirements?
