Your Goats Made This Possible

Jit holding a goat

We recently checked in with Jit Kumari Yogi. Jit is part of our Empowering Women Farmers in Nepal project and received two goats from Heifer.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to teach Jit how to best care for, raise and breed her goats. She now has eight goats on her farm and plans to expand to about 40. The money Jit earns from selling her goats has enabled her to do more than she ever dreamed of…

Jit and her family holding goats

Jit has grown her farm to include even more animals, and now raises chickens that provide her family with nutritious eggs. She has also significantly expanded her banana farm, where she provides jobs to local women.

Your gift gave more than a goat — it gave Jit a new beginning for herself and her family. She’s also been able to share her strength with others in her community. She sees how helping others can make life better for everyone. “Even more than receiving,” Jit says, “I feel really happy when I am able to help others.”

Thank You

Through your gift of goats, you’re giving a hand up—not a handout—to families determined to lift themselves out of hunger and poverty…FOREVER. Learn more about your life-changing impact in Nepal.
