This project works with women to set up chicken farming cooperatives. Not only do these women learn how to raise healthy chickens that will produce top-quality meat and eggs, but they also learn how to work together to get the best prices for their goods.

Cooperative members sell their eggs and chicken meat at local markets to help feed their neighbors. They also have established relationships with restaurants in more urban areas where there is great demand for these premium products and where they can charge fair prices. The project has resulted in 40 new businesses, each of which contributes to closing the living income gap for 6,000 women!

What’s more, participants have saved more than $1 million through their cooperatives.

Women can then reinvest these savings back into their businesses, so they can continue to grow, enabling their families and communities to flourish!
