Heifer Vietnam welcomed 17 American students from the University of Montana on January 5, 2013. The purpose of the study trip was to educate the students about the culture of local people.

Ho Duc Tham, senior program manager, introduced Heifer Vietnam, its operations and project implementations. He also explained the general benefit these projects provide to the Mekong Delta region and its population. The meeting livened up when students began to ask questions, showing their interest in Heifer projects, physical inputs and Heifer’s Values-Based Holistic Community Development (VBHCD) cornerstone.

The students thanked Heifer Vietnam staff for taking the time to meet with them. Some asked for further information and materials related to Heifer projects for their assignment. This is the third delegation of foreign students to visit Heifer Vietnam. These student visits are organized by the International Affairs Department of Can Tho University, and the meeting with Heifer Vietnam is part of the study tour.
