Thanks to generous donors, Heifer International has implemented over 80 projects and assisted more than 4,000 families to end hunger and poverty in South Africa. In March 2013, Heifer invited three individual donors to see firsthand how their support has helped impoverished communities.

Accompanied by Heifer staff, the donors visited four projects in the Limpopo Province: Hereford Dairy Project, Ipopeng Project, Itsoseng Project and the Arise and Shine Project. During the two-day visit, donors had an opportunity to participate in a group meeting, visit participants' homes and see vegetable gardens and livestock operations.

"Heifer did not just give us a fish to eat today, but they taught us how to fish so we can eat every day," participant Francine Moloto shared with the donors.

Donor Archie Vermeulen said, "Hearing and seeing firsthand always makes a difference. Clearly [Heifer's] positive intervention with the communities has made a huge impact."

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help further Heifer's mission.
