Heifer Peru project participants like Lucila Cruz have built bio-gardens where they grow alfalfa, lettuce, radish, cilantro, spinach, beetroot, and other vegetables. Raising guinea pigs provides protein and income. Better incomes enable families to live healthier and happier lives and outfit their homes with efficient appliances like improved cookstoves.
