Thanks to your generous monthly support, Heifer is helping the farmers in Oaxaca, Mexico make the most of their assets. In 2018, we launched our Rural Entrepreneurs project to give farmers the tools, training and confidence they need to bypass the middlemen and become enterprising entrepreneurs in control of their livelihoods.
Mayra Jiménez Santiago is one of the many women who have benefited from this project. With her cows and her newfound confidence, she is proving that women can run a farm — and make a profit doing it.
