EADD Partners with Dairy Farmers in Nabitanga Village, Uganda
Seven dairy farmers started the Nabitanga Dairy Farmers Cooperative Society LTD with the goal of improving family livelihood. Started by seven dairy farmers in 2005, the East African Dairy Development joined the cooperative in 2008, increasing milk production and changing the lives of numerous farmers in Nabitanga village. Their mission is to make the best use of milk produced by farmers to achieve financial independence. And their vision is to develop a multi-functional business where farmers get multiple solutions for financial and economic challenges. The Nabitanga Dairy Famers Cooperative Society has grown to just shy of a thousand members as of 2014 and includes board members and staff. The cooperative has a solid vision for the future, looking at owning a home, buying more milk coolers, owning a processing plant, expanding service coverage, increase members, and acquiring a high capacity generator.
