Objectives of Milk Transportation & Dairy Technology
EADD's Jane Maindi discusses how new milk transportation and dairy technology innovations will help meet the needs of Heifer farmers in east Africa.
EADD Program Manager Jane Maindi visited Heifer International's Little Rock, Ark., campus in June 2013 to share about an innovation created by Intellectual Ventures that helps farmers reduce post-harvest milk loss and contamination. This video shares the objectives of the post-harvest milk technology project.
The project’s objectives are to provide affordable, robust and sustainable dairy technology for milk farmers. Maindi describes the Mazzican container pilot. This pilot was designed to reduce spoiled milk, contamination and transportation through the use of a pilot project with improved durable and stackable milk transportation containers. Heifer partnered to help build awareness, provided training in the field and assisted with logistics.
