Between stories from the field, grassroots community events, international celebrations and all of the community activity on Heifer's social media platforms, there's a lot to keep up with. Now's your chance to catch up! Here's a quick recap of Heifer happenings and your favorite posts in March:
Celebrating International Women's Day on March 8 was a big highlight this month, and ended up being one of our top stories:
Goats and lambs are always crowd favorites (we can't blame you). They were all the rage on Twitter and Instagram this month:
Following us on social media is a great way to follow stories from the field, too. Auguste is featured in World Ark's most recent feature on Haiti, and Devi was part of a preview on Instagram of earthquake recovery efforts in Nepal (look for more on the quakes' first anniversary, April 25).
Devi Rijal looks over the ruins of her home in Tupche village, Nuwakot District, #Nepal. Devi was feeding her chickens when the earthquake struck on April 25, 2015, and watched as her house shook and then collapsed. She now lives in a temporary structure near her home with her two children and five other families. Despite the hardships of the past year, Devi is still an active member of the Pragatasil Women’s Group. She has 11 goats that give the family income and hope for the future.
