Take a Look at a Passing on the Gift Ceremony in Cambodia

At Heifer, we often talk about the powerful act of Passing on the Gift. It is the hallmark of our model, and ceremonies amazing to watch. Whether farmers are passing on animals or time and knowledge, the act transforms recipients into donors and produces a profound sense of accomplishment. Tangible gifts come with intangible benefits of opportunity, dignity and acceptance.

Nearly 300 people attended a recent Passing on the Gift ceremony in Cambodia. Pigs, chickens and vegetable plants were given. Take a look at the slideshow below to get an idea of what goes on at these events. All photos were taken by Heifer Cambodia staff Chhin Chhunhoir and Kheang Sokleng.
