On November 22, 2012, Disability Development Services Program (DDSP) staff taught students at Talo High School in Cambodia's Pursat province about Heifer’s 12 Cornerstones for Just and Sustainable Development. The purpose of DDSP's presentation was to educate more people about the proven Cornerstones concept.

DDSP is a partner in Heifer's Empowerment of Self-Help Groups for Sustainable Livelihood Development in Northwest Region project. In addition to the November visit to Talo High School, DDSP takes the Cornerstones concept to other high schools and community projects. Through this sharing, they hope the Cornerstones will educate students and community members and empower them to have better lives.

Buoy Phal, program manager for DDSP, said that the community development principles have been disseminated to high school students in the three districts of Pursat province–Bakan, Phnom Krovanh, and Pursat City. In addition, four DDSP projects are being implemented with Cornerstones principles.

Through this work, Phouk Phalline, DDSP project coordinator explained, more and more people are learning the important principles of Passing on the Gift®, Accountability, Sharing and Caring, Sustainability and Self-Reliance, Improved Animal Management, Nutrition and Income, Gender and Family Focus, Genuine Need and Justice, Improving the Environment, Full Participation, Training, Education and Communication, and Spirituality.
