Pierre Ferrari had a busy Saturday, visiting the village of Padampur, Nepal in the morning, a Nawalparasi women's cooperative project in the afternoon, and the village of Beltandi as the sun was setting on a women's group in glowing pink saris that has planned and built 10 improved homes in two short years. An evening meeting with women's cooperatives wrapped up the day.

Ferrari's most frequent questions of participants were of a business nature, about the current market prices for the sale of goats and vegetables, the cost of land, and their plans to increase their income and improve their situation in the next few years.

Women's group members are eager to scale up their work and have many ideas. Ferrari pushed them to continue to think about ways to reach more of their neighbors in need while also keeping the high-quality training that makes Heifer projects a success.

Catch glimpses of his inspiring day in the field in the video above where Pierre explains that Heifer's 12 cornerstones of development empowered these women to change their lives from within. Please share with us here any ideas you have to help Heifer reach out to even more people in its work worldwide.
