Ending hunger and poverty begins with supporting women farmers.

In the dry and dusty country of Senegal, the empowering women of the Saloum Corn Producers Association celebrate their harvesting achievements in a Passing on the Gift® ceremony. The association’s members, including Ramata Niass, give away seeds from their harvests, at no cost, to other women farmers.

Ramata and other members previously experienced difficulties obtaining high-quality seeds. Because of the generosity of someone like you, 2,500 female farmers now have the agricultural knowledge and support to live sustainably and put food on their tables.

“As the Wolof saying goes, ‘Strength is in unity, and what one can do, two can do better.’ This is true for us,” Ramata said.
