Ways to Get Involved

Volunteer at a Learning Center

Volunteering with Heifer changes lives – including yours!

Heifer's Learning Centers deliver educational programs showcasing Heifer's model for global and sustainable development. Learning Centers are an integral part of presenting Heifer's mission to the public, and exploring the issues of world hunger and poverty while challenging visitors to become more responsible global citizens.

All volunteers are part of the Learning Center team, dedicated people with a great sense of community and family. As a volunteer, you may:

  • Work with school-age children
  • Give tours and lead education programs
  • Greet visitors and assist with the Gift Shop
  • Assist in livestock care and maintenance
  • Help with food preparation and gardening
  • And more!

You can become a part-time or residential full-time volunteer. Residential volunteers live on-site and dedicate months, even an entire year, to full-time volunteering. Local day volunteers live off-site and pass on their gifts by assisting with day-to-day operations or special events. There are many opportunities to put your talents to work.

For more information, see our Facebook Page or email lcvol@heifer.org. You you can also visit our Learning Center Facebook page or check out Heifer Ranch, Heifer Village or Heifer Farm online.
