Fruitful Partnership Between Armenia and Poland Leads to Tangible Results

Heifer Armenia, together with Heifer Poland, launched a new program in the Lukashin and Gargar communities of Armenia with opening ceremonies. This is a great example of how friendship among nations can turn into something really tangible, this time serving the development of small farmers in Armenian villages.

Heifer Armenia Study Tour to Poland

The presidents of milk-producing cooperatives from several Armenian communities went on a study tour to Poland on September 7-12, 2012 to visit and learn from several milk cooperatives. Heifer Armenia Project Coordinator Aram Petrosyan accompanied them and wrote this account of their trip.

From Armenia to Poland and Back: Long-Term Partnership, Tangible Results

Heifer Armenia has been implementing programs in Armenia in partnership with Heifer Poland and the Polish Development Cooperation since 2011. Two study tours were planned for Armenian participants to visit projects in Poland: one for dry fruit processors, the other for milk processors and producers. Knarine Ghazanchyan, Program Coordinator for Heifer Armenia, accompanied the dry fruit processors and shares the details of the trip.

Overlook Farm Luncheon Raises Funds for Armenia Project

Sixty guests were invited to a Farm Luncheon at Overlook Farm in Rutland, MA, one of Heifer International’s Learning Centers, on Saturday, August 11th to raise funds for the Armenia Smallholder Farmer Signature Project. Overlook Farm and Heifer International hope this is one of many creative and collaborative efforts as part of our Education Model to raise awareness, action and monetary support for Heifer’s work in the field.

A Crafty Way to Make a Living and Have Fun

More than 30 women sat in one room, knitting, sewing, making laces and woolen jewelry at one o’clock in the morning. Why wouldn’t they go to bed? One might think they were professional craftswomen trying to finish their job as soon as possible. On the contrary, they were village women at an arts and crafts workshop that was part of a Heifer International project. They were chatting and laughing, and so wrapped up in what they were doing that they simply forgot the time. The women are Heifer International project participants in Poland who meet once every two weeks to do and learn more about their crafts.
