To own a business, you need relevant knowledge, a project, responsibility and the initiative to start. Heifer International is providing business training to more than 200 members of 20 YES! Youth Clubs in rural Armenian communities.This training encourages an entrepreneurial spirit, setting the participants up for a prosperous future.
Heifer helps people regain their self-sufficiency after disasters have stripped it from them. Sahakyan Garnik was a successful pig farmer in Armenia, but an earthquake destroyed his farm, he was never able to financially recover. Heifer gave him two pigs, and now his farm is thriving. 
Heifer's beekeeping project is flourishing in Armenia. Neighbors are preparing for an upcoming Passing on the Gift® ceremony. This story profiles some of the villagers in Debed.
Anna and Aram received a pregnant heifer more than a year ago. Already, she has had two calves and is expecting a third before next year.
Vahan Hambardzumyan and Arsen Harutyunyan planted apple seeds last year, and they are beginning to see the results of their efforts — the trees are bearing fruit. The teenagers are studying ecology through Heifer YES! Youth Club in their village. 
Starting from the very beginning of its activities in Armenia, Heifer has been actively cooperating with the local non-governmental organizations and farmers’ associations. One of the most successful partnerships between Heifer and local NGOs can surely be considered the partnership with the Lukashin Farmers’ Association. This dates back to 2008, when, in the framework of Heifer projects and with assistance of the association, 26 families in the village received 26 pregnant cows.
It’s been almost a year since the family of Armine Sargsyan and Sargis Karapetyan received a cow from Heifer Armenia through one of its most famous projects, Peace to our Homes.
The cow, Khumar, gave birth to Bzho on January 6, the day when Armenian Apostolic church celebrates Christmas.
Georgian and Armenian veterinarians met in the village of Azatan to learn more animal health care September 25-27, 2012. The training was part of the Animal Health Care in Cross-Border Areas of Armenia and Georgia project, which was funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation and implemented in Georgia and Armenia by Heifer International.
This family including their seven children, were desperately in need before becoming project participants. Now they are fully embracing their Heifer gifts and using them to learn new trades and improve their lives.
Thirty young Armenians from the YES! Youth Club visited a nursery and learned about the forests, plant species and nature, and answered questions like, “Can you imagine what could happen if all the trees suddenly disappeared?”
