Lamb Judging Competition in Project Village

More than 100 farmers participated in a Lamb Judging Competition held January 12, 2013, in Tokay Village, China. Eighty families received 395 quality ewes after the project officially launched in December 2011. By the end of 2012, 326 lambs were born; these lambs were the “contestants” of this Lamb Judging Competition.

Cambodian Women's Empowerment Project Launches with Support from European Union

A joint project proposal from Heifer Cambodia and Gender and Development for Cambodia was awarded about $1,441,720 by the European Union to implement the project, Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights and Socio-Economic Empowerment, which aims to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment to participate in sustainable socio-economic development in Cambodia.

Couple Works Hard for Children’s Futures

Trinh Thi Phuong Dung and her husband, Heifer Vietnam project participants, work hard so their children can go to college. Their two daughters, 28 and 22, both graduated from the university with degrees in accounting, and their son, 18, is due to begin his studies in February at the College of Politics in Bac Lieu.

A Farmer Field School in Northern Philippines is helping farmers learn how to become organic farmers. They recently received a grant and built an organic fertilizer processing building, so they are assured that organic fertilizer will be readily available.
