Poland - Agriculture and Tourism Development

The harsh climate of the eastern Carpathian Mountains in Poland contributes to low yields and is only tolerated by certain kinds of animals. Heifer is providing families here with bees and beef cattle, two suitable solutions for the climate. Heifer is also helping to create an educational tourism industry in the area, taking advantage of the beauty and natural treasures in the region.

Peru - Building a Sustainable Way of Life

The small farmers living in Piura in northern Peru live in poverty and have limited production resources. Peru - Biodiversity and Agroecology for Food Security

Heifer International is working in some of the poorest areas of Peru with high rates of child malnutrition. Nepal - Building Communities for Holistic Development 2

Danuwars are among the most marginalized ethnicities in Nepal. Once, they were rice farmers, but more recently, due to lack of education and failure to change with the times, they have been reduced to farm laborers. As a result, they are virtually non-existent in the country’s social and political dialogue. Through a holistic approach to community development, Heifer is assisting 8,900 families to improve their incomes and social condition.
