(Dec. 26, 2012) – As the end of the calendar year approaches, it’s time to round out your charitable contributions for the tax year, and Heifer International urges you to include the struggle against hunger and poverty in your philanthropic efforts. Because Heifer International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donations are tax-deductible. Donors must make their charitable contributions by Dec. 31, 2012 in order to deduct them from taxes for the current year.

Heifer dispatches photographer to Philippines as damage assessment continues

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Dec. 10, 2012) - Heifer International sent a photographer to the Philippines over the weekend to document damage and record existing state images in the wake of Typhoon Bopha, which struck the southern island of Mindanao last week with hurricane-force winds and heavy rains. The photographer will return to the area in late January, along with a World Ark writer to record the situation and report on long-term agriculture rehabilitation plans.
