Heifer CEO Joins Harvard Conference

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 17, 2012) – Heifer International President and CEO Pierre Ferrari has been invited to participate in this year's Social Enterprise Conference at Harvard Business School. Ferrari will participate in a panel discussion Sunday, Feb. 26, on Business Models for Food Security and Agricultural Development. The conference, which in 2009 was named by Forbes.com as one of the "Top 12 most influential and exclusive executive gatherings," along with the World Economic Forum at Davos, TED and the Clinton Global Initiative, is co-hosted by students at the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School.

Heifer International Leader To Visit Haiti

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 13, 2012) – Heifer International is deepening its work in Haiti this month, with a visit by its President and CEO, Pierre Ferrari, and the opening of a new goat-breeding center. The $30,000 breeding center will house about 100 animals, which will be used to fortify local goat stock. Ferrari will be in Haiti from Feb. 15-22, to preview Heifer Haiti's new REACH project, or Rural Entrepreneurs for Agricultural Cooperation in Haiti. The $18.7 million project will target more than 20,000 families in Haiti, working with goats, cattle, poultry, pigs and other agricultural inputs. The project will focus on moving families from hunger to self-sufficiency and further into small business development.
