Two to Five Hour Programs



Each Overlook Farm tour includes an introduction to Heifer International and a guided walking-tour of the Heifer Global Village and Overlook Farm. Specialized tours combine the Basic Tour with interactive educational activities that take a deeper look into culture, animals and/or food choices.

Basic Overlook Farm Tour – Pre-K to Senior Adults (2 ½ Hours)
Learn how Heifer is improving millions of lives around the world. 
Booking Information: Offered Monday-Sunday year-round.
Group Rates: $100 (1-16); $200 (17-32); $300 (33-48); $400 (49-64); $500 (65-80) 
Tuition Fees Include: Heifer video and guided walking-tour

Specialized Overlook Farm Tours
Animal Connections
– 1st to 3rd Grades (2 ½ Hours)
Learn about the many benefits animals provide while you spin wool, milk a goat or groom livestock. Hands-on activities vary based on your group size and the time of year that you visit.
Booking Information: Offered on select dates each fall, winter and spring beginning September 18, 2009.
Group Rates: $150 (1-16); $300 (17 – 32); $450 (33-48); $600 (49-64)
Tuition Fees Include: Heifer video, guided walking-tour and hands-on activities

World Neighbors – 4th to 6th Grades (5 Hours)
Discover how your life is similar to those in countries such as China, Peru, Thailand or Guatemala by experiencing the country’s language, games, music, folktales, housing and clothing.
Booking Information: Offered on select dates each fall, winter and spring beginning September 14, 2009.
Group Rates: $200 (1-16); $400 (17 – 32); $600 (33-48); $800 (49-64)
Tuition Fees Include: Heifer video, guided walking-tour and cultural activities. This program qualifies for a Junior Girl Scouts badge.

Humans and Habitats – 4th to 12th Grades (5 Hours)
While preparing and eating a Global Village meal, discover how culture is reflected in the food we eat and how we prepare it. Investigate the impact of food choices and examine issues surrounding population and resource distribution.
Booking Information: Offered on select dates each fall, winter and spring beginning September 14, 2009.
Group Rates: $225 (1-16); $450 (17-32); $675 (33-48); $900 (49-64)
Tuition Fees Include: Heifer video, guided walking-tour and educational activities (including Global Village meal). This program qualifies for a Junior Girl Scouts badge.

Global Solutions – 6th to 12th Grades (5 Hours)
During your Global Solutions program at Overlook Farm, your group will be introduced to Heifer’s mission of working with communities to end hunger and poverty and caring for the earth.  They will also be introduced to the concept of how sustainable lifestyles can be a solution to these problems.  Your group will see sustainable agriculture at work here on the Farm and through a tour of our Global Village sites, they will learn about how our project partners all around the world strive to live more sustainably by being good stewards of their environments and their communities.
