Celebration of Living Gifts
Saturday, November 28, 2009
10 am - 4:00 pm
Free admission. No reservations required.
During “Celebration of Living Gifts,” visitors can meet some of the animals, including sheep, chickens and a goat that Heifer provides to families around the world. Get inspired to give your family and friends Heifer gifts this holiday season. It is the gift that keeps on giving. Heifer recipients eventually become donors themselves as they “pass on the gift” of offspring of their cows, goats and other livestock to others in an ever-widening circle of hope. You can take pictures with the animals as you make your Heifer donation. Some of the other fun activities include creating a unique picture frame for your animal photo and making your own ornament. Bring your family for a day filled with the spirit of giving to others. Download our Celebration of Living Gifts Flyer.

Green Building Tour
What makes a building more “environment friendly?” How can new technologies create a building that uses half the energy of another building of the same size? This tour shows how Heifer International’s headquarters building has achieved the highest “Green Building” rating possible, and offers a look at the future of construction for an environmentally-conscious world.
Wetlands Tour (weather dependant)
Heifer International transformed a former industrial waste site into a thriving wetlands habitat by removing toxic soil and channeling rainwater into plant-lined ponds and canals. Today, the wetland is teeming with fish, turtles, frogs and the occasional Great Blue Heron looking for a meal. It’s a rewarding – and fun – educational experience to see this natural system in action.
