Making Your Donation to Heifer International

Your children have completed the program. Now it’s time to tally up the results, make your donation and celebrate!

Ask the children to collect their pledges, checks made payable to Heifer International: Read to Feed, and return them to their Read to Feed leader.

Total all sponsor pledges and discuss with the group which animal(s) to give. You may also wish to discuss how the chosen animal benefits the geographic area where Heifer has a project. Use Real Kids, Real Animals for information about specific animals, or watch our Animal Friends videos. (Each “purchase” is symbolic and represents a contribution to the entire program of Heifer International.)

Make your donation online or complete the donation form included in your Read to Feed Student Kit, and mail the form and checks to:  Heifer International, P. O. Box 8058, Little Rock, AR 72202-8058. You will receive a thank you certificate for your class in the mail.

Media Opportunity
Tell your friends and the local media about your successful Read to Feed program! Download our press release template to help you share your success with your local media outlets. Kids love reading about their efforts in the newspaper! Be sure to alert the media in advance of any photo opportunities that could go with their story.

Celebrate Your Achievement
Your students have raised money that will bring self-reliance to many families around the world. Each family that receives a Heifer gift will eventually pass on one or more of its offspring which means your gift will continue to spread to others in need – now that is something worth celebrating!

Present each child with a Read to Feed certificate which is included in your Read to Feed Student Kit. Thank parents and students for their participation in Read to Feed.
