The Evolution of Heifer's Read to Feed Program

Heifer International is proud to launch a comprehensive web site for educators in the fall of 2008. This site, HeiferEducation.org, will serve as a powerful tool for educators to inform, engage, inspire and enlighten their students about their global neighbors – their lives, cultures, struggles and efforts to achieve sustainable futures and reduce poverty for their families.
Teachers will be able to learn about ways to teach their students to take action and make a difference by learning about world hunger, as well as receive information about professional development opportunities provided by Heifer International.
Brand new lesson plans, which are tied to national education standards, are available, as well as new video documentaries, games and activities for use in the classroom. Information about Heifer’s popular Read to Feed activity is also included.
Heifer's Global Education Resource Kits
Heifer International’s sustainable living resources are also contained in a physical version of the HeiferEducation.org web site. The kits contain some of the lesson plans found at the site, DVDs, ideas for activities in and out of the classroom and much more. The Kit also contains information about Heifer’s acclaimed Read to Feed reading incentive activity.
