A Letter From Gor
My name is Gor, I am seven years old.
We have a beautiful cow, Sirun ('beautiful' in Armenian). For me, my cow is the kindest and cleverest animal in the world.
I became to love it even more when on March 18 it delivered a calf - Malish ('baby' in Russian). My grandma and grandpa told me that I could give the calf a name.
In spring, when we take it out of the barn, we play together running here and there. When I get tired and want to have a rest a little, Malish comes up too me as if asking to continue playing!
In the mornings, I take Malish to the pasture and in the evening go to take it back home. When the calf sees me, it starts jumping around me.
I am so glad that I have Malish!
But my father tells me in three years we will have to pass it on to another family who needs it very much, so that their children become as happy as I am.
I will miss my Malish very much, but I will take good care of Sirun so that it delivers a new calf for me.
Note: Gor, the son of one of the beneficiaries of a Heifer project in Armenia, wrote this letter to Zemfira Hakobyan, president of one of Heifer's partner organizations.
