Business-Minded Teen Plans to Enlarge Pig Farm with Earnings

Business-minded Nazar plans to enlarge his pig farm with his earnings. Thirteen-year-old YES! Youth Club member Nazar takes his business plan and $100 from Heifer Armenia and creates a successful pig business, which he plans to enlarge with his operation's earnings from this past year.

The coffee cooperative, La Prosperidad de Chirinos, held a celebration in Cajamarca, Peru, for the Passing on the Gift® (POG) ceremony on World Food Day, October 16, 2012. Thirty coffee producer families who had received guinea pigs through Heifer Peru six months before shared 210 guinea pigs with new families.

Son Sinath Wins Golden Talent Award in Cambodia

Son Sinath and her family received the 2012 Golden Talent Award in Cambodia. Through the Women Empowerment and Holistic Community Development project in Cambodia, Sinath's family received 10 ducks, seeds and fruit trees to develop their homestead garden. They have used the knowledge, skills and experiences from Heifer's trainings to propel them forward, transforming their gifts into sustainable sources of income.

Heifer Project Opens New Door for Vietnamese Family

Thuan Hoa is one of Heifer Vietnam’s targeted project sites most populated with poor farmers. Yet, thanks to the support of Heifer Vietnam, the participating farmers are making progress against the poverty they face. One outstanding participants from this village, Thach Thi Kim Hien, credits the Heifer project for opening a new door.
