Armenia Families See Project Success

In 2008, Heifer International launched its project in Armavir in partnership with the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), in which 115 original families received cows and sheep, and 60 more received animals from their neighbors through Passing on the Gift® (POG). Later this year another POG ceremony will incorporate more people into Heifer Armenia's project in Armavir.

When the La Prosperidad cooperative passed on the gift of guinea pigs in Peru's Chirinos District, 520 families gathered to be a part of the special day. The ceremony featured music, dancing and happy families who were excited to share gifts of food and income security.

Heifer Philippines Gains Insight at Community Based Monitoring System Conference

Heifer Philippines staff recently attended a three-day workshop on the Community Based Monitoring System, where they gained fresh insight on the direction national and local governments are headed regarding poverty reduction, as well as how this system will help the country achieve its Millennium Development Goals.
