PME Manager Karla Narcise-Rudolfo of Heifer Philippines reflects on her visit to Siem Riep, Cambodia, for The Global Impact Monitoring Workshop from January 28 to February 3. Monitoring and evaluation practitioners worked together on a new evaluation system to support Heifer's mission to end hunger and poverty.
For more than a decade, Heifer Armenia and its partner Development Principles NGO have significantly contributed to the development and empowerment of the rural youth by establishing and running YES! Youth Clubs in different regions of Armenia. This year 50 alumni from different youth clubs attended the Annual Forum of YES! Youth Clubs Alumni on February 11. The forum was organized to discuss the salient issues that the rural youth face, as well as propose the best possible solutions to those issues.
On February 11, Babanka Orphanage received milk processing equipment with help from the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UPM) and Heifer Ukraine. Now the children will always have fresh yogurt, cheese and other dairy products.
Jennifer Moyo of Zimbabwe is benefiting from the Hope for the San People project, improving her family's livelihood by raising chickens and helping her community by being a Community Animal Health Worker.
In 2010 Heifer International implemented the Assistance to Charity House Network in East Georgia project. Participants operate a network of charity houses and free canteens. Heifer’s support also helped the organization renovate its small hog farm.
