Heifer Project Provides Family with Self-Reliance

Samvel and Narine were struggling to provide for their family with a farm of five goats before becoming participants in a Heifer project. When they received a pregnant heifer, the cow gave birth to a healthy calf. The family is happy to be self-reliant and has hope for the future.

The Gift of a Cow Remedies Armenian Farmer's Depression

Artur Hovsepyan, suffering from depression, disappeared from life in an Armenian village. His family received a cow through Heifer's Passing on the Gift® practice, and it was just the thing to bring him out of his depression. He began caring for the cow, which soon gave Artur a calf to care for. His family, friends and neighbors are grateful to have him back.

Joining Heifer Fulfills Family's Dream

The Armenia Missionary Association of America and Heifer Armenia presented 14 families with pregnant heifers. The project aims to better the social and economic situations of the Lori region.

Irrigation Pipe Improves Livelihoods of Chinese Farmers

The China Merchants Charitable Foundation (CMCF) funded a Heifer irrigation project to assist Chinese farmers in Mingle Village. After listening to the community's SHG and the local government, CMCF decided to replace an original three-sided canal, which collapsed after only one year of use, with a steel pipe to irrigate the village's farms.

A World Ark Experience in Romania Includes Passing on the Gift®

World Ark writer Katya Cengel and photographer Geoff Oliver Bugbee visited Heifer Romania, traveling to the villages of Rasca and Aschileu to interview participants in two of Heifer Romania’s projects, spending time with participating families and experiencing a Passing on the Gift®.
