In 2012, Heifer South Africa was awarded a grant for about $60,674 by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to develop its staff through several learning exchanges and training courses. CIDA was pleased with Heifer South Africa's successful activities and approved an additional $33,408 for 2013, to further capacity building activities. |
CARMAC is a unique Heifer project that will bring systemic change. Support for the 55 engaged cooperatives in terms of the 30 percent cost-share for acquiring agricultural equipment is, by itself, innovative. The project is of significant importance to the rural communities of Armenia, as it promotes more effective use of existing natural and technical resources and cultivates a sense of responsibility and private ownership among farmers. |

Natural disasters have posed a significant challenge for Heifer Philippines’ project Developing Dairy Zone Towards Local Economy Development for Smallholder Farmers.
