The Najaryans, a young, hard-working family of four, is living in need. Hmayak, 40, works as a milk processor in the Armenia. His monthly salary is a bit more than $100, not nearly enough to care for his family with two growing sons. As project participants, the family had their cow artificially inseminated in 2012; she has since given birth to two calves, giving the family hope for the future. |
Flora Monga lives in Zambia. Two draft animals she received from Heifer International have significantly improved her land's production and now she rents them out to neighbors. Improved production made it necessary for the community to have a feed mill for processing their harvest, so this entrepreneur bought one. |
Arpine Poghosyan, a participant in the Young Agriculturists Network of Armenia project, and a member of YES! Youth Club, received a $100 seed grant from Heifer Armenia and established a small rabbit farm. She is very happy to have her own business and to practice the knowledge and skills she has gained during the business classes with the club. |
