The Mkrtchyan's are a friendly, hard-working family and enjoy the love and respect of their neighbors. The three brothers work with their parents to grow fruits, vegetables and maintain the family's farm.
Heifer Nepal is celebrating Passing on the Gift (POG) during the month of March, in which 5,529 families will be passing on gifts of livestock along with various other resources.
New School, a bilingual international school in Georgia, has 600 pupils representing more than 30 different nationalities. Apprentices from New School recently raised money to donate to Heifer International.
On February 22, an opening ceremony of the Read to Feed program was held at YK Pao Primary School in Shanghai for the third year. As Heifer China participates in the Aid Project in Xinjiang, held by the Shanghai government, this year’s program donation will be go directly to Yarkant County in Kashgar, Xinjiang, and purchase Simmental cattle and Dolan sheep.
In the villages near Shantikunja, in the Chitwan district of Nepal, hundreds of women mobilized for International Women's Day. With signs that read "Women are the key to community development," these women have a deep belief in the 12 Cornerstones for Just and Sustainable Development, even though 11 years has passed since they first received training and the gift of goats.
