Heifer International’s Armenian country program is organizing a roundtable/discussion on "Gender Equity and Rural Women in Armenia," Tuesday, April 6, in Yerevan.
The participants are NGO and state representatives and community leaders from rural communities of Armenia. The agenda includes presentations on gender equity strategy of Heifer International, situational analysis of rural women in Armenia, as well as working in groups at salient issues.
The deliverable of the roundtTable will be recommendations to policy makers in Armenia on gender equity with focus on rural population.
Heifer International is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger and caring for the earth by providing livestock, trees, training and other resources to help poor families around the globe become self-reliant.
Heifer International came to Armenia in 1999. It has implemented more than 45 projects in South Caucasus, assisting more than 5,000 families in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan to build their own family farms. Currently, Heifer Armenia has 19 ongoing projects among them 17 projects are being implemented in Armenia and two projects in Georgia.
