LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 12, 2012) - Heifer International’s corps of Community Volunteer Coordinators will “Spring into Action” on Saturday, March 24, in the organization’s first ever multi-venue volunteer recruiting and engagement blowout.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 6, 2012) On Sunday, March 4, 2012, a fire destroyed Heifer International's Uganda country office in Kampala. Staff members are safe, but damage was severe and country program assets and materials were lost in the blaze. An evaluation is under way to determine which records can be salvaged via backups and copies. Teams from Heifer Uganda, the Italian Embassy security staff, the District Police Commander Wandegeya police station, the Fire Brigade and other security offices responded to the fire, which broke out about 5 a.m.

Cindy Jones-Nyland to lead organization's marketing and resource development LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 1, 2012) – Heifer International today announced Cindy Jones-Nyland, whose nonprofit experience includes a leadership role with Susan G. Komen For the Cure®, as the organization's new Executive Vice President of Marketing & Resource Development.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 1, 2012) – Heifer International's Murphy Keller Education Center (Heifer Village) in downtown Little Rock is pleased to display graphic design materials of four different Arkansas-based nonprofits in a new exhibit from March 21–April 9, 2012. Design for a Cause will feature design work from Heifer International, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas Children's Hospital and the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Visitors can see how illustration, photography and writing are brought together by professionals in the service of various causes that improve our community and the world.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 24, 2012) – Asi Burak, Co-President of Games for Change (G4C), will be keynote speaker at Heifer International's first of its kind, GAME ON summit on Monday, February 27 at Heifer Village. His focus will be "Games for Change: Using the Power of Games for Social Good."

Months-Long Animal Distribution Begins Under Large-scale USAID Grant Project LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 15, 2012) –A historic, months-long distribution of farm animals is now under way in Senegal, as Heifer International begins work on part of a new USAID Feed the Future project. Heifer estimates this handoff to 5,500 families to be the largest in its 68-year history.
