LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 14, 2012) – Sonora Dodd was the driving force behind the establishment of Father’s Day in 1910, to honor of her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children on his own. This Father’s Day, you can honor your father by helping to lift another father and his family out of poverty and into self-reliance, with an alternative gift from Heifer International.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 5, 2012) – On World Environment Day, Heifer International is proud to be a part of the Green Economy, from Heifer’s LEED Platinum-certified headquarters to its projects around the world that care for the Earth at the same time they improve lives.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 5, 2012) – Father’s Day gift-giving isn’t easy for the dad who seems to have everything. (Does he really want another tie?) But shopping for Dad doesn’t need to be difficult, if you remember that what he really wants is a reminder of the skills and values he imparted to his children. That’s why the gift of self-reliance for a family in need, through Heifer International, is so special.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 1, 2012) – No smile is more sweet than that of a child, and no cry is more cutting than the wail of a toddler. Children are not just the precious keepers of the future. They are a source of joy and purpose for their families every day. Heifer International marks International Children’s Day today as a chance to focus attention on the pressing need to keep youngsters well-nourished and out of poverty.
