It is nearing that time of year again when one starts thinking about the Holiday season and what they may decide to gift to the person in their life that seems to have what they need and is difficult to buy for. Why not do something totally different and unique this year?

Why not honor your friend or relative with a gift to someone in need in another country in your friend or family member’s name?

Your friend or family member will be honored in knowing that instead of a gift that may wind up sitting on a shelf, or something that they already have one or two of already, their gift this year will be the ability to help a family around the world to have a brighter future.

For instance you can help impoverished families to be able to obtain a heifer, goats, pigs, sheep, rabbits, bees, chickens, llamas, a buffalo, trees, or even a whole ark of animals that will supply both food and materials to be able to sell and earn a living.

For example: with a generous donation of a sheep… A family will receive training on the care and housing of the animal. They will then prepare proper facilities to house the animal and will receive a healthy female sheep which will then provide them with wool that can be sold. That family in turn will be able to breed the sheep and in turn gift another family in their village or community with the ability to be self-reliant also. It is a gift that can keep on giving many times over to help someone else.

When you make your donation to Heifer International your family member or friend will receive a card stating what has been donated in their honor.

Heifer International was established in 1944, and since that time has been instrumental in helping millions of impoverished families around the world. In fact more than 125 countries and 15 million families! Wow! Simply amazing!

Did you know that a gift of a heifer can wind up helping an entire community? A good milk cow can produce up to four gallons of milk a day. The milk can be shared with many neighbors for helping the children to have healthier nutrition. Not only that, but a heifer can produce a calf a year which in turn can be gifted to another family for either meat or again dairy products.

With goats, sheep, pigs, llamas, buffalo, and more… the families can raise the animals and provide things like wool, meat, milk, and also the ability to sell the livestock at farm markets. A win-win situation for them to be able to rise above poverty and to have improved lives and communities.
