Help Heifer provide "Kids to Kids" this year!
 If you were to visit the small farm in Romania where Darius lives, you would see a very different scene from the one of just a few years ago.
Darius' life has changed in almost every way. And with your generous support we can carry this success to children in other countries through innovative programs like the one we call "Kids to Kids."
Around the world, children and goats just go together!
Darius' father was too sick to work, and his older siblings were leaving their home and village, desperate to find work in the city. But since receiving goats from Heifer his father is doing much better, and Darius' sister Madalina is confident she will be able to stay home, instead of going to the city.
 It was much the same for Santos in Honduras. His mother was sick and his brother had left school to help support the family. Santos went to bed hungry almost every night. Today things are much better for his family, and Santos is hopeful for the future in a way he never was before.
Getting a goat didn't just mean more to eat for Darius. It meant more responsibility too. But he has accepted those responsibilities gladly, both because he loves the goats and because he is proud to be helping his family so much.
 Little Ousman feels the same way. There probably aren't too many 10-year-old boys in Ghana who have as much responsibility as he does! The goats are his to care for, and it means a lot of work. But he is happy to be helping his father, and delighted that the extra income means he's now able to start school.
One lesson Darius has learned is from those to whom much is given, much is expected. The Heifer principle of "passing on the gift" made a big impression on him. He's happy to see other families benefiting from goats just as his family did.
 And Betty and her brothers agree. "Please send more goats," they have asked us, to help other families in Uganda.
That's what we need to do, in Uganda and around the world. There are so many children and families who need goats, cows, chickens, ducks and other animals! And that's why we're counting on you to help support our Heifer and our 2007 Kids to Kids campaign. Only with help from friends like you can we continue to provide animals to families that desperately need the nutrition and income they provide.
We call this campaign "Kids to Kids" because kids and goats go together so well. Children love goat milk, and goats are gentle enough for children to care for. Many times money from the sale of goat milk helps families afford books, uniforms and tuition to send their children to school.
But it isn't only children who benefit. It's whole families!
Darius, Santos, Ousman, Betty have all seen their families' economic outlooks improve dramatically. Their bodies are healthier … their farms are more productive … and they have hope for the future as never before!
