Read to Feed Makes Heifer History
Two children reading in the library.
Read to Feed encourages kids to read and help others at the same time.

Students and supporters across the United States have just made Heifer history, reaching the highest goal ever set for a Read to Feed™ Matching Gift Challenge. We started our Spring campaign with a matching gift goal of $50,000.  Due to the students’ enthusiasm and donors’ generosity, we increased our goal TWICE, finally setting a goal of $100,000. That goal was exceeded as well! We are grateful to the students, their teachers, and Read to Feed supporters who share our belief in the power of working together.

We are so impressed by the gifts we received and the stories we heard from the Read to Feed students. We appreciate their teachers’ energy in engaging them in meaningful change.  And we thank all those who supported this match challenge believing that reading can inspire generosity in the hearts of the students who participate. It’s a powerful experience to be part of the solution to hunger and poverty.  We look forward to seeing the many ways the students continue to make a difference. Congratulations to our many Read to Feed teachers and students!
