Heifer International in Nepal is creating a strategic plan to improve lives in the country for the next 10 years. New Business Age ran a story on the impact and development of Heifer Nepal: “Currently, a project of USD 23.4 million is in its implementation phase. This programme targets a total of 138,000 households in 28 districts.... the project has already reached 68,207 households including 12,089 new families and 56,118 families through Heifer’s approach of ‘Passing on the Gift’ under which direct recipient families pass on resources ranging from livestock, improved seeds to skills and knowledge to more needy families."

Two Heifer International volunteers traveled from California to Arkansas to learn more about how Heifer makes a difference in alleviating hunger and poverty. They took this knowledge back with them and spread the word at the Orange County Fair!

Eva Amurri Martino will be co-hosting Heifer International's Beyond Hunger: A Place at the Table event in Los Angeles, September 19th, 2013, at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. Her mother, Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, will be honored at the event.

Did you know that women play a central role in Heifer International projects around the world? This post from Chicoer.com talks about Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, who were both interviewed in separate issues of World Ark magazine.

Many churches help people around the world, like Montalba Christian Church in Texas, which has a collection jar in the church entryway to raise funds for Heifer International as part of the “Change the World” outreach program.
