Marcia is founder and president of Independence Trust Company, a federally-chartered trust institution opened in 1997 and serving personal and corporate clients across the country.
Prior to forming ITC, she served as senior portfolio manager at First American Trust where she managed the equity income fund, headed the equity team, and served on the investment policy and closely held business committees. She began her career at J.C. Bradford & Co. serving first in their asset management department and later managing the retirement plan administration division.
A chartered financial analyst, she serves on the City of Franklin's pension and investment committee. She has served on the board of Twenty-first Drug Court, as director of the global Financial Analysts Federation and as president of the Nashville Society of Financial Analysts.
She received her B.S. in math from Emory University where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. A Harold Sterling Vanderbilt Fellow, she received an M.S. in math from Vanderbilt University.
Marcia has served on the Heifer Foundation Board of Trustees since 2008 and participated in the 2009 Nepal and 2010 Kenya study tours.
