Name: Kathy Moore
Title: Donor Services Mailroom Team Lead
Location: HQ-Little Rock, Arkansas
How long have you worked for Heifer? August 1994. From 1990-1992, I volunteered 32 hours a week with the Central Region distributing merchandise for church fundraisers, living gift markets and Heifer's table at the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Barn Petting Zoo at the Arkansas State Fair. Became a contract worker in 1993 and started as a regular employee in 1994.
A History with Heifer: In 1958, I traveled to Japan with my father Donald Baldwin, a Methodist minister from Washington and an original Seagoing Cowboy. We delivered a shipment of Holstein heifers through the Heifers for Hokkaido project.

Dan West's son, Phillip, helped farmers prepare for a shipment of cattle in Japan. Kathy and her father met up with him during their trip. His account, "Heifers, Japan and Healing the Wounds of War," was featured in World Ark's November-December 2006 issue.
What attracted you to work for Heifer? I was familiar with Heifer from my childhood and when I discovered they had also moved to Arkansas, I was excited to become involved with the mission again.
What has been the most memorable experience you have had while working for Heifer? I loved working on the archives. I worked on them for nine months and could have stayed there. The old cowboy stories and the history is fascinating. Other memorable experiences include a study tour to Vietnam and Cambodia in 2002 and the Donor Services Call Center study tour to Honduras in 2005.
My education includes: I received a B.A. in Anthropology with a Minor in Far Eastern Studies from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1964.
My hobbies include: I've always enjoyed hiking, swimming and dancing, especially Folk, Scottish, Irish and Clogging. I took water ballet in high school. I like to garden, too, and I grow both vegetables and flowers. I was in a Cactus and Succulent Club for 20 years.
My family consists of: My husband Tom and myself.
Something about me that you might not know:
I was a member of the Arkansas Scottish Dancers and Arkansas Country Dancers from 1979-2000.
What is the best thing about working at Heifer HQ?
The best thing about working at Heifer is the mission of Heifer.
